Cat toys pattern
What you need:
- Worsted yarn
- D3 or 3.00 mm crochet hook
- Black embroidery thread
- Pillow stuffing
- Darning needle
- Scissors
- 5 or 6 pieces of ribbons of different colors. More or less 30 cm each.
- Optional: you may want to imprison a small bell while stuffing toys.
Abbreviations:
- sc = single crochet
- inc = increase
- dec = decrease
- sl st = slip stitch
- ch = chain stitch
- dc = double crochet
- st = stitch
- [ ] = work instructions within these symbols as many times as directed
- ( ) = number of stitches in the row/round.
BALL:
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: [1 inc + 1 sc] x 6 (18)
Round 4: [1 inc + 2 sc] x 6 (24)
Round 5: [1 inc + 3 sc] x 6 (30)
Rounds 6 – 7: 30 sc
Round 8: [1 dec, 3 sc] x 6 (24)
Round 9: [1 dec, 2 sc] x 6 (18)
Round 10: [1 dec, 1 sc] x 6 (12)
Round 11: 6 dec (6)
Tie all the ribbons together with a big knot and insert it inside the ball before closing the hole. Secure with some sewing stitches.
MOUSE:
Body:
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: [1 inc + 1 sc] x 6 (18)
Round 4: [1 inc + 2 sc] x 6 (24)
Rounds 5 – 6: 24 sc
Round 7: [ 1 dec, 2 sc] x 6 (18)
Rounds 8 – 9: 18 sc
Round 10: [1 dec, 1 sc] x 6 (12)
Rounds 11-12: 12 sc
Round 13: 6 dec (6)
Close hole and finish off.
Ears (x 2):
6 sc in magic ring. Do not close.
Sew ears on round 9.
Tail:
Insert hook in the body, in a stitch of the starting magic ring.
Ch 13, turn, 12 sl st.
Secure with some sewing stitches.
Eyes:
Embroider with black thread.
FISH:
Crochet in rows. End each sc row with 1 turning ch.

Row 1: ch 7
Row 2: 6 sc
Row 3: 1 dec, 2 sc, 1 dec (4)
Row 4: 2 dec (2)
Row 5: 2 sc
Row 6: 2 inc (4)
Row 7: 1 inc, 2 sc, 1 inc (6)
Row 8: 1 inc, 4 sc, 1 inc (8)
Row 9: 1 inc, 6 sc, 1 inc (10)
Rows 10 – 12: 10 sc
Row 13: 1 dec, 6 sc, 1 dec (8)
Row 14: 1 dec, 4 sc, 1 dec (6)
Row 15: 1 dec, 2 sc, 1 dec (4)
Row 16: 2 dec (2)
Row 17: 1 dec (1)
1st half: finish off.
2nd half: do not cut thread. Assemble the 2 parts together and sc around.
On the top of the fish, replace 5 sc with 2 ch, 3 dc, 2 ch to depict the dorsal fin.
Embroider the eyes with black thread.
